Hi there! I’m Igor @stepahin, a product designer. This is my historical research project and a massive data visualization covering the entire history of Crypto. It’s like writing a book but as a designer. I've been working on this as a side project for 3 years, off and on. There’s no team, company, or sponsor behind it. A lot has already been done, but it's still a rough draft / work in progress stage. Now, I want to show the community my current progress, ask for feedback, and find supporters.
The project lives in Figma where I work on it publicly. The minimum plan is to finish a static digital version + a physical "small" poster, and a full-size 8m / 320-inch wide canvas for readability of all the tiny text. The goal to find enough funding and create an interactive version with UI
Maybe this is my small contribution to mass adoption. When they look at my infographic, every time I hear friends outside the community say something like "Wow I had no idea things were so interesting in your space, I'm going to read all of this tonight," I know it's worth it. Those same people wouldn’t suddenly start reading crypto books or random articles in crypto media, but this infographic format grabs their attention and captivates their minds.
This is like public goods. Right now, things aren't going very well for me, and I decided to publish this project to try to find support for it (or just a new job, I’m a product designer). I would be very grateful for any feedback.
Check out the timelapse of the project over the past 3 years. A lot has been done so far. Unfortunately, without your support, I can’t focus on the project full-time, which I would love to do to finish v1.0 this year. I’ll get it to the final release no matter what, but with your help, I can move much faster.
